Material & Construction
The Big One features a tightly woven waffle pattern that creates deep thirst pockets. These pockets retain water instead of spreading it across the paint, making waffle towels much more efficient than flat microfiber towels. You need to wring them out less and they dry faster.
The 70% polyester/30% polyamide blend combines the best of both worlds: polyester for durability, structure, and quick drying, and polyamide for superior absorbency and softness. This blend is the standard for premium microfiber products.
The ButterSoft™ microfiber suede edging is a luxurious, soft edging perfect for drying edges, mirrors, door handles, and other hard-to-reach places. It's softer than waffle weave and prevents scratches on delicate surfaces.
The extra-large 70x90cm size allows you to dry more surface area before wringing out the cloth. This makes drying large vehicles like SUVs, trucks, and RVs much faster.
The cloth is lint-free and doesn't leave fibers on the paint. Its quality improves with use—the cloth becomes softer and more absorbent after each wash.
Use and application
Rinse the car thoroughly after washing to remove all shampoo. Lightly dampen The Big One with clean water—this activates the microfibers and improves absorption.
Fold the cloth in quarters for multiple dry surfaces—this gives you 8 usable sides. Lay the cloth flat on the surface and pull it towards you using the "lay and drag" technique. Let the cloth absorb the water without rubbing—the waffle weave does the work.
Wring out the cloth when saturated (you'll feel the absorbency decrease). Turn to a dry side and repeat. Work from top to bottom —top first, bottom last.
Use the ButterSoft™ edge to dry edges, mirrors, door handles, grilles, and other hard-to-reach areas where waffle weave is less effective.
Applications:
- Cars, trucks, SUVs
- Campers and caravans
- Boats and yachts
- Engines
- Windows and mirrors
- Rims (after washing)
- Large surfaces
Pro tip: For large vehicles, use two cloths—one for the top (clean), one for the bottom (dirtier). Dampen the cloth slightly first for best absorption. Wring it out regularly to maintain absorption. The cloth can be tumble-dried for quick drying between washes.
Waffle Tissue Technology
The waffle pattern isn't just for show—it's a functional design that dramatically improves absorption. The deep thirst pockets create more surface area and trap water within the fibers instead of spreading it across the surface.
This makes waffle cloths more efficient than flat microfiber cloths:
- More water per wipe
- Less wringing required
- Faster drying
- Less chance of streaks
- Better for large surfaces
The tight weave also ensures durability — waffle towels last longer than plush microfiber towels that flatten more quickly.
Maintenance & Washing
Before first use: Wash the cloth in the washing machine to remove any production residue. This improves absorbency.
Machine wash: Wash at 40-60°C with a mild liquid detergent that is free of dyes, fragrances, bleach, and fabric softener. Wash only with other microfibers —NEVER with cotton (cotton leaves lint).
Drying: Tumble dry on low heat for quick drying, or air dry. DO NOT iron—high temperatures damage the microfibers.
Do not use: Fabric softener (clogs fibers and drastically reduces absorption), chlorine bleach (damages fibers), high temperatures.
Color Separation: Wash dark colors separately for the first few washes to prevent color bleeding.
Lifespan: With proper care, The Big One will last hundreds of washes. Its quality improves with use—the cloth becomes softer and more absorbent.

The Rag Company offers a manufacturer's warranty against material and manufacturing defects. Returns are accepted within 14 days in unused condition according to our terms and conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why waffle weave instead of plush microfiber? Waffle weave has deep pockets that retain more water and dry faster. Plush towels are better for buffing and polishing, while waffle towels are better for drying.
-
Do I need to wet the cloth before use? Yes, just dampen the cloth slightly with clean water. This activates the microfibers and significantly improves absorption.
-
Can I use this with a drying aid like Bead Maker? Yes, perfectly! Spray Bead Maker onto the wet surface and dry with The Big One. The cloth absorbs the water while the Bead Maker remains.
-
How many cars can I dry with one towel? Depending on the size: 1-2 medium-sized cars, or 1 large SUV/truck. For large vehicles, it's helpful to have two towels.
-
What is ButterSoft™ edging? A luxurious, soft microfiber suede edging that's perfect for drying edges, mirrors, and hard-to-reach areas. Softer than waffle weave.
